CineStarRefresh for multiplex

With its 13 multiplex cinemas, CineStar is one of the largest multiplex networks in the Czech Republic. Its cinemas are equipped with state-of-the-art projection technology and perfect sound, and the Anděl CineStar in Prague also has two luxurious Gold Class halls. During our cooperation, we have helped the client with a number of projects so that the visitors to the CineStar website can always find what they need.


We have given the website a new look, but that’s not all. We have simplified the promotion of film releases on the homepage and created space for the CineStar events that were originally hidden in the menu. New film releases and events can be easily edited now through administration and the operator has the website fully under control. The most frequently used pages have been highlighted in the main menu.

New look of the programme

We have arranged the programme, which is the most visited page of the website, better. We have made switching to the next few days easier and grouped the dates into time zones. When you display the screening time, you can newly see the length of the film and the estimated end.

Visualization of the hall

Selection of seats is part of ticket booking. For CineStar, we have prepared graphics with a real layout of the seats in a selected screening room. Playful characters also show the current occupancy of the seats.

CineStar to businesses

To businesses, CineStar offers gift vouchers, the possibility of screening room rentals and closed film screenings.

We found out that the current website for businesses needed not only redesigning, but also a new structure and way of booking. Therefore, we organized a workshop using the Human Centred Design (HCD) approach. It is a set of techniques and processes focused on the man and thus allowing finding new constructive solutions to existing problems. The HCD is always based on information from end-users and it can focus on their real needs.

Customer profiles

In the workshop, we created customer profiles for two most important customer groups: the first one buys vouchers, the second rents the screening rooms for corporate events.

We found out valuable information based on which we defined a number of issues for both groups. Then we looked for answers in our solution.

CineStar Club

The CineStar Club is a loyalty programme providing the customers with a beneficial membership as well as discounts on shows and refreshments. The members can simply manage their accounts directly on the website. We have created a “star” style for the CineStar Club, which is reflected throughout the communication – from club cards to popcorn packaging.
